Class 1 Video Chapter Outline
Chapter 1 - IPD Commercial:
Institute For Personal Development, Inc. is a Kriya Yoga Ashram with
classes, programs and services.
Chapter 2 - Namaste and Lineage:
Welcome: Namaste means “I bow to the Divinity within you.” Kriya Yoga is a
traditional system of Yoga with the support of a Lineage. Sri Sri Babaji is the
spiritual fountainhead of the Kriya Yoga movement.
Chapter 3 - My Personal Path:
Christian, American Transcendentalists, Buddhism, and Yoga to Self
Realization.

4 - The Topic of Yoga:
Yoga is a broad topic these days and is compared to Mathematics.

5 - Course Overview:
" The eight
essential stages of Kriya Yoga are a complete holistic health management system
that translate into a path of action, a path of knowledge, and a path of
devotion. These lifestyle strategies are designed to initiate a process in
physiological, psychological, and spiritual development that unfolds in three
phases: prepersonal or unconscious awareness, personal or self-conscious
awareness and transpersonal or super-conscious awareness. Total consciousness is
the goal of Yoga."
Chapter - 6 IPD Discoveries:
1. Wholeness and Transformation 2. Physiological, Psychological and
Spiritual Development for a human does not happen instinctually—Process is
necessary.
Survival - Chronologically age and psychologically remain in an underdeveloped
state.
Growth - Requires a scientific procedure introduced as a transformational
lifestyle.
Wholeness - there is an innate drive in every human to be whole.
Transformation requires action, knowledge and devotion.
Chapter 7 - Union Explained:
Union of Eight Stages as coordinated lifestyle strategies. Yama, Niyama,
Asana, Pranayama, Pratyahara, Dharana, Dhyana & Samadhi
Union of consciousness to expand the conscious system beyond the limits of
physical reality to achieve Total Consciousness.

The eight essential stages of Kriya Yoga are practices to facilitate a
process.

essential stages of Kriya Yoga are a list of requirements and not a list of
options.
Chapter 15 - Yama Control:
Abstentions develop self-control and self mastery.
Abstentions show what energy field we are connected to.
Chapter 16 – Non-Injury (Ahimsa):
Can’t hurt yourself and you can’t hurt others. Non injury is the antidote to
fear.
Chapter 17 – Non-Lying (Satya):
There is only one Supreme Being and only one truth everything else is lying. Non
lying is the antidote to ignorance.
Chapter 18 - Non-Stealing (Asteya):
What energy field am I connected to? Non stealing is the antidote to laziness.
Chapter 19 – Non-Greed (Aparigraha):
Greed is driven from the physical body looking for validation. Non greed is the
antidote to selfishness.
Chapter 20 - Non-Sensuality (Brahmacharya):
Carrier of Brahman is one who uses what they need to validate the physical body.
Non sensuality is the antidote to fear, ignorance, laziness and selfishness.
Chapter 21 - Recap and
Assignments:
There is an innate drive to become whole, completion can’t happen in the
dualistic dimensions—we must learn to transform. Kriya Yoga is a
transformational science.
